Watermelon Frosties

Nothing says summer more than watermelon! Everyone in my family loves watermelon. We have been buying the sweet little baby melons every week and enjoying them in big slices, cubes and even blended up into these watermelon frosties. This is a refreshing, fun summer drink that grown-ups and kids love. Serve in a beautiful glass with a mint garnish, or play it down and serve in mason jars with a straw. Either way, you can't lose with this one!Watermelon Frosty
recipe from Healthy Happy Life
Makes 4 servings

Ingredients:
4 1/2 cups of watermelon, cubed and frozen
1 banana
3/4 cup water
juice of one lemon
1-2 Tablespoon of maple syrup, agave nectar or sugar *optional

Directions:
Slice your watermelon into cubes.
This was about half of the baby watermelon. Place in a big ziplock bag and put in the freezer until frozen (about 2-3 hours). I did this step the day before.
When you are ready to make and serve, put the frozen watermelon into a blender.
Add the banana and water.
Squeeze the juice of the lemon into the blender. Add the maple syrup if using.
Blend until smooth and frosty. Yum.
Serve with a garnish of mint and a small piece of watermelon.
How refreshing do those look?

  1. oh, these look yummy. But you know me, I'd leave out the bananna. I like the new look of your blog, too - I hadn't seen it before! Very nice!

  2. Yum! Will have to try these. We make watermelon smoothies with raspberry sherbet and watermelon. That's a good one too!

  3. Wow these were awesome. All my 16month old would say was "drink, drink" which is actually "dink ,dink" from her little mouthh but it was a hit! The easier thing to do with the lemon juice is 1 tablespoon and a half. I also had to use extra water. But so so so good. Whole family liked them! Thank you!
