Spiced Pecans, or any nut you like!

Spiced Nuts are an easy festive treat this time of year!  I like to make them as a homemade gift to share around the holidays.  You can use any nuts like in this recipe but pecans are my favorite.

Here is the recipe (and I wish I knew where it came from!)
Spiced Nuts

Ingredients:
2 cups of pecans or other nuts
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cayenne red pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoon butter, melted (can use a little more butter if desired)

Directions

1.     Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, foil or silpat and spray with non-stick cooking spray.  Place the pecans on the baking sheet in a single layer and bake for 5 minutes.

2.     While pecans are baking, combine the sugar and spices in a small dish and set aside.

3.     Melt the butter in a medium sized bowl and place the warm pecans in the bowl and toss with the butter until well coated. Add the sugar and spice mixture and stir until the nuts are coated.

4.     Spread the nuts back on the backing sheet in a single layer and sprinkle any remaining sugar/spice mixture over the nuts.

5.     Bake for 20 minutes, or until the nuts are toasted.  Cool completely before serving.
